Earlier today, the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted full approval for the operation of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship Akamkpa, Cross River State. The Certificate of Recognition (CoR) was presented today at the NUC Headquarters, Abuja by Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), along with his management team to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Anthony Owan Eno, who represented the State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, with the Commissioner for Education Cross River State, Senator (Associate Prof) Stephen Odey Ph D, and other representatives from Cross River State witnessed the event.
The Chief Education Officer of the State, Senator Associate Prof Stephen Odey, congratulated and commended His Excellency, Senator Apostle Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for his resilience, passion, and push for this achievement of full approval and autonomy of the institution. He assured the full implementation of all the programmes as approved by the NUC to develop and have skilled manpower for the State and the Nation in general.
“I am happy this approval is happening in my tenure as the Education Commissioner,” Senator Odey stated, as he further informed that NUC has communicated to JAMB, TETFUND, NELFUND, NYSC, and other relevant agencies for necessary actions.
